AuthGuard Classroom Monitor is a Chrome extension designed for educational institutions to monitor student Chromebook usage, track screen time, and ensure online safety. This privacy policy explains how the extension collects, uses, and protects user data.
Data Collection
What We Collect
When monitoring is active, the extension collects:
- Screenshots: Captures of the active browser tab (not the entire screen) at configurable intervals
- Website Activity: URLs, page titles, and time spent on each website
- User Interactions: Click counts, keystroke counts (excluding password/email fields), and scroll distance
- Search Queries: What users search for online
- Tab Information: Open tabs and their status
- Idle Time: Periods of user inactivity
- Screen Time Data: Duration spent on different website categories
What We DON'T Collect
- Passwords or email field contents
- Personal files or documents outside the browser
- Screenshots when monitoring is not active
- Data from incognito/private browsing sessions
- Audio or video recordings
- Clipboard contents
How Data is Used
Collected data is used exclusively for:
